The ancient grain, which is thousands of years old, is harvested and processed on the edge of the Sahel by women's cooperatives that therefore have an income. The grain grows on poor sandy soil in 6-8 weeks.

It is rich in protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals and is naturally gluten-free.

Preparation is simple and fast. The cereal is tasty and can replace any other grain for breakfast, lunch or hot meal.

The ready-made mixes based on fonio for porridge, pancakes, meals and salads will soon be produced under the name Solange's African Cuisine.
