History of the Hagheweyder chickens.
It is summer 2023 and there are about 200 Hagheweyder chickens spread across the country from cooperating breeders. At De Braamstruik farm, 12 chicken farmers from the Hagheweyders come together to exchange experiences.
Around 1975, Andreas Wijgmans had started developing a dual-purpose nuthel at the Hagheweyde estate in Warmond that would be suitable for biodynamic chicken farming.
In March 1985, there was a meeting in Driebergen between Andreas Wijgmans, Ton Baars, Hans Meijer and several other stakeholders. The reason was to formulate breeding goals for the Hagheweyders.
