Biobeurs 2026 - ALLEBEI and the Buckwheat Cooperative

No items found.

ALLEBEI was set up by DID-IT with the idea: in the organic sector, it should actually be impossible for the newborn roosters to be killed and that the bull calves serve as dog food or grow up under poor conditions.

At ALLEBEI, the cocks and the bull calves also have the right to a dignified animal life.

The roosters live in a mobile home in the meadow until they are adults.

The bulls drink with their mother for 4 weeks. After that, they still drink at the milking machine in the pot shed with straw and can already go outside. They continue to grow up outside in the meadow at the Zonnehoeve nature reserve.

When the animals are adults and are transported and slaughtered in an animal-friendly way, there has been a natural life cycle for chickens and cattle.

If you eat an egg, there is also a rooster in addition to the hen, if you drink milk or yoghurt, there is also a bull calf in addition to the cow calf.

In addition to the organic label, ALLEBEI meat also has the EKO label as a full-fledged Dutch product.

In addition to the meat, there was also the chicken stock from the Kleinste Soep Fabriek that simmered for 4 weeks, and the Biomühle, which provides herbal mixtures for the cattle, you could taste the difference with the ususal feed in the various cheeses.

Poppe Braam, from DID-IT and the Buckwheat Cooperative, (Boekweit Coöperatie) gave a workshop at the Biobeurs about buckwheat, a traditional Dutch nutritious grain that is often grown and processed in Drenthe and the North.
